Paying It Forward

An important part of MOVE's mission involves scholarship recipients "paying it forward" by giving back in some way to their school, church or community. This unique twist to scholarship requirements is intended to instill a greater sense of appreciation and accomplishment on the part of the recipient.

Recipient's pay it forward initiative should include an explanation of their involvement in MOVE, the goal of their initiative and a plan for carrying it through. Examples of paying it forward could be:

• Organizing a community performance at a Senior Center
• Becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister
• Organizing a dance marathon
• Offering to teach a free dance class series (if you are of age and qualified to teach)

Scholarship recipients are encouraged to think big and set challenging, yet reasonable and attainable goals. Recipients will be required to provide progress reports of their "pay it forward" initiative.
